Gaviscon Infant Powder is used for the treatment of reflux and regurgitation in infants and young children. It works by mixing with and stabilising the stomach contents. Suitable for infants one year and older. In infants under the age of 1 year it can only be administered on medical advice.
Directions For Use
Sterile powder for oral administration.
Each sachet contains one dose.
Prepare immediately before use.
Do not give more than six times in 24 hours.
Breast-fed infants:
Under 4.5kg (10lb), one dose.
Over 4.5kg (10lb), two doses.
Add 5ml of cooled, boiled water to the powder in a glass.
Mix to a smooth paste and add another 10ml water to the mix.
Give after each feed, using a spoon or feeding bottle.
Bottle-fed infants:
Under 4.5kg (10lb), one dose to be mixed into not less than 115ml of each feed in the bottle and shaken well.
Over 4.5kg (10lb), two doses to be mixed into not less than 225ml of each feed in the bottle and shaken well.
Young Children:
Two doses, prepared as for breast-fed infants.
To be taken after each meal.
Active Ingredients
Each unit dose sachet of 0.65g powder contains:
225mg Sodium alginate
87.5mg Magnesium alginate
Warnings
Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Only use this product as intended, in the event of misuse, seek medical advice.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Allergies
Do not use this product if you are allergic or have a hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Age Restriction
Not suitable for premature infants or infants under 1 year of age or except under medical supervision.
Not suitable for use in adults or the elderly.
Storage
Do not store above 30°C.
Product Specific Warnings
Not to be used except upon a recomendation from a doctor or pharmacist.
This product is not to be used with feed thickening agents or infant milk preparations containing a thickening agent as this could lead to over-thickening of the stomach contents.
If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 7 days please consult your doctor.
Do not use if the child is vomitting or has diarrhoea or if the child has a fever.
Do not use if your child is taking any other medication, please talk to your doctor.
Each dose contains 21mg sodium.
Also contains mannitol E421.
