Functions of Vitamin D:
- Helps regulate calcium metabolism and normal calcification.
- Helpful in maintaining the nervous system, heart function and for normal blood clotting (all of which are affected by calcium levels).
Uses of Vitamin D:
- Maintains healthy teeth and bones.
- May be taken to aid healing of fractures, osteoporosis and other bone problems.
- Vitamin D (with calcium) may help reduce some menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes and depression.
